Flood Disaster July 2007
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for visiting our new site. This is targeted at a specific problem. This is, to help those in desperate need, in the flooded areas of the UK. Our Club has linked with the Rotary Club of Hull to provide items which are required immediately to alleviate suffering to thousand of citizens who have been affected.
INFORMATION.
Using data provided by the Rotary Club of Hull, we can advise that around 10,000 homes in the City have been flooded and it will take many months for the damage to be repaired. An estimated 30.000 people have been displaced. There is a real problem with the uninsured loss and the lack of basic amenities in some areas.
ACTION PLAN.
The Rotary Club of Hull has liaised with the City Council to establish priorities that we can help. We are based in the Bracknell, Wokingham and Ascot area of Berkshire and we need to ‘find’ Cooking facilities, i.e. Cookers, Stoves, (not temporary camping items) but permanent usable items. In addition Fridges, Freezers, Microwave ovens will be needed. All electrical goods must be in good working order and will be tested by Hull City Council before re distribution. Items such as soft furnishings must be fire retardant and bear the appropriate label. In order to get the priorities correct, please use our connection data below and we will arrange collection and delivery to Hull.
CONCLUSION.
This is an opportunity to show that we can provide help to our fellow citizens, not in far away lands, but on our doorstep. If you can help us to help those in need, please use the following information connection.
